ABOUT
I build homes for ideas so that we can capture their structure, their physical sense. This then allows our conversations to add what the sculptor Doris Salcedo calls “trading synopsis to build a community meaning.” I design pieces to attract conversation, especially that form of comment which grows and changes with interpretation.
Sculpture offers a sense permanence in contrast to ideas — which are the least permanent but most prevalent force in our lives today. I include the whole universe of dreams, fears and imaginings. Ideas into Objects produces work for conversation and participation. My work bridges the permanent and the transitory seen as an inner tender and vulnerable presence housed in a unchanging outer shell.
